Tuesday

Sneak Peak

Here are some of the very first images of my new t-shirt line! This business is a partnership, and as my partner is my brother, we thought it only fitting to call our company Sean & Jenna. More to come soooooooon!

Thursday

Drawings for Screenprints

A few more drawings that I've done for future screenprints. I'm really enjoying the simplicity of the black and white, mixed with the bold pattern.

Monday

This is one of the designs that is in the running for our first screenprinting.

Saturday

Interplanetary

This piece is called "Interplanetary." Why? Perhaps I was thinking of the Beastie Boys as I was naming this one. For me, titling this series of drawings is just as important as the actual drawing of them. I hope that the titles encourage the viewer to make associations from the image and their own personal memories.

Sunday

Windshield

This drawing seems to somehow fit what I'm feeling right now, after having walked a good 25 minutes in an honest-to-goodness blizzard. This drawing represents my struggle through biting wind and slapping snow.

Thursday

Rio Bravo

I had just watched one of my favorite westerns when I drew this. I think I was influenced by the earthy, dry colors of the southwest.

Sunday

And Now... Prints!

I have decided, after much deliberation, to offer some reproductions of a selection of my drawings. So far I'm offering these three pieces, all in a fun 5" x 7" size - perfect for adding a little touch of art to any situation! They are now available in my shop

Saturday

Pilot

This one definitely looks like a fish. Was I thinking about fish as I drew this? I don't remember. Maybe I had sushi that day for lunch.

Thursday

I Miss Painting

I love my drawings with all my heart - but lately I've been really feeling to urge to paint again. It's a struggle with the little space that I have to use as my studio presently, but I need to find a way.

In the meantime as I work this out, I will continue to draw and will post some new work soon. Here's one new piece, I call it "Locomotive."

Saturday

In Need of Inspiration

I'm off to the Met today, perfect day for it too - rainy and gray. I expect to return with lots of ideas to work out in tiny, automatic drawings.

This is a new drawing, I call it Innermost, after a Mission of Burma song that I was listening to.

Monday

Now Appearing on Little Paper Planes

I am happy to announce that I am now selling limited edition prints of a few of my drawings at littlepaperplanes.com

Take a look! There's lots of wonderful art for sale!

Thursday

New Drawing *The Magician*

This drawing resembles a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat. I am reminded everyday that this world is so filled with wonder - how fantastic.

Friday

Slow Down

My body has been sending me a myriad of signals to slow down, and it's prompted me to rethink a lot of things. As I focus on feeling 100% healthy and back to normal, my artwork has taken a back seat. Which is fine - I'm listening to my body and taking action to make changes in my life that need to be made. I plan on having some new drawings completed in a few days anyway.

Thursday

On the Town

The movie and the drawing it inspired.

Tuesday

Babylon

Babylon 8" x 10" ink on beige paper

I've noticed that when there is a lot going on in my life, my drawings become smaller, more controlled and more self-contained.

Thursday

Bye Birdie

I made this drawing while half watching "Bye Bye Birdie," a movie that I saw often enough when I was growing up. I'm not sure I care for it so much anymore. Definitely not one of my favorite musicals, but I do like how the drawing came out.

Wednesday

I'm fighting with myself over whether or not I should make some of my drawings a bit more intentional, less instinctual. I probably won't, but I'm thinking about it.

Tuesday

Touch 'Em All

My admiration and love for the game of baseball has been quite apparent in a few of my newest drawings. I'm usually unsure of how obvious the inspiration for my work is, but with these I think it's pretty clear. "Touch 'Em All" was drawn while watching the Mets play the Nationals.
