In a way, I feel like this series is an experiment in intuition. I am basically taking the external cues from my immediate environment - it could be music, or a movie, maybe conversation - and allowing them to influence the movement of my hand. I have always felt resistant toward planning my work. Making sketches and studies before diving into a new painting was never a compelling step. I suppose this is why I find these automatic and instinctual drawings so appealing.
